Communist PRC continues to express its concern about the choice of shutting up refugees arrived from Tunisia in the town of Mineo despite the agreement of the mayors of the region. We consider
high risk that the village will become a reserve Mineo / ghetto where they will be denied the rights and freedoms of migrants can undermine any process of genuine integration.
In this sense it is unacceptable that the guarantees offered by the Government to an exasperated mayors are based exclusively on the militarization of the territory and the imprisonment of those who did escape from hunger and war.
We also remember that all migrants to be conducted in Mineo enjoy the right of asylum and that each of them arrived in this country with its own plan of life and work and to be reunited with relatives, friends and countrymen in various Italian and European cities. Recognize the rights
migrants thus eliminating concerns of those who fear that overcrowding in the area.
We condemn the irresponsibility of the national government ready to rage again over the weak, and demand that the practice of granting asylum to be completed as soon as possible. Valerio Marletta
