Corte dei conti condanna l'ex sindaco Fagone e altre 6 persone
Una missione senza alcuna utilità per l'amministrazione comunale e, per di più, giustificata «sulla base di un campanilistico sentimento di solidarietà nei confronti delle persone da tempo emigrate dal Comune di Palagonia». Con queste motivazioni, la Sezione giurisdizionale della Corte dei conti (sentenza 716/2011) ha bocciato i rimborsi liquidati a tre amministratori che nel 2006 si recarono a Ginevra per partecipare alla "Settimana della lingua italiana nel mondo" e ha condannato sette persone a restituire la somma.
